A bit of history..
The original Blue Train Big Band performed extensively throughout the Isle of Man from the minute it was formed by a group of local amateur musicians in 2001. They always thrilled their audiences with a programme to suit all tastes including classics from the Kenton, Basie and Miller libraries through to the 21st century sounds of the Big Phat Band. The emphasis was always on entertainment and fun.
The band performed at a variety of events and functions throughout each year - Dances, Parties, Weddings etc. The highlights of the band's history were without any doubt performances with the legendary Digby Fairweather, and two live appearances at the Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival.
The band stopped performing in 2007, and it went into what can be best described as 'hibernation' until Spring 2010.
But, it's now back on the rails - so watch the news page for gig news!!
